ICT PRACTICE FOR JHS AND PRIMARY SCHOOL AT THE CIC

The community Information Center has added to it service ICT training for Basic school in the community. This is in line with the introduction of ICT as core subject in the basic level of education.

The center has identified the need to intervene and help these schools since there currently no computers in these basic schools in the community but are supposed to sit for ICT in their final exams.

The centre allows schools within the community to hold practical lesson of their normal school ICT period here .This goes a long way to support schools that have no computers to aid the teaching of ICT in the district. We believe that this avenue offers the chance for most of the students to see a computer for the first time or having first time access to it. Tutors of ICT come along with their students according to a specially-designed schedule the teacher are allowed to teacher and supported by the Manager during the lesson. It is evident that student show more interest in the subject when they are sitting in front of the computer rather than studying it in the classroom. Various challenges such as Inadequate computer projector and securing transportation for schools situated far away from the centre, need to be .

addressed in the near future. The schools that are currently using the center are Girls Model School and Higher Accademy School the rest are yet to come letters has been sent to the heads of the various schools.

SUPPORT US TO BE ABLE TO ACHIEVE OUR GOALS

We are determined to achieve our aim of ensuring that we become the hub if ICT within the Tano South District. However, due to the high cost of technology and its tools, CIC Bechem welcomes all forms of support which will help us in our wealthy goal.
We will gladly welcome assistance in the form of cash donations, ICT Books, computer equipment and accessories and other donations.
Our challenge of transporting students from distant communities to the centre will be lessened if the centre has a means of
transport. Please contact us through e-mail:cicbechem@yahoo.com for details on how your donation will be received.
